GG’s Birria Barbacoa Cafe: A Taste of Authentic Mexican Flavor

Great Birria at GG’s. We are lucky in KC to have great Birria and GG’s is right up there with some of the best in the city. They tortilla is crispy which is a different take then other places. It held up to a lot of dipping in the consommé. The consommé was flavorful and not over salted. I am thinking he was the owner who served us, he was great. Explained his food and was so happy to answer all our questions. We also got the pozole. It was good. Chicken and pork with so much hominy!!

Outstanding food! If you want south of the border tasting food, without feeling like a chain restaurant, this is your place. Great prices, authentic tastes, definitely not the Mexican restaurant on every corner. Very unique. Must try!

First time going because i heard they had really good chilaquiles. I've only ever eaten my mother in laws, so it was great to try in a restaurant setting. Not too much room, but they did have a couple of highchairs so my little one could enjoy with us! The man at the counter even brought us a plate for her to eat on (even though she tried to throw it haha she didn't use it). The food came out fast and hot and was delicious! I got the steak and chilaquiles and my bf got the one with barbacoa.

This is the real hidden gem in KCK Hispanic food. Don't let anyone tell you different. Why wait in line at some hip bougie overpriced Cafe for brunch when you can get a real authentic Hispanic breakfast and some of the best barbacoa This is the place you take people from out of town and also people that have lived here their whole life that don't know about it and impress them with that restaurant you showed them. A small family-owned gem that needs the respect it deserves.

Wow! Delicious (authentic) food, fair prices and generous portions - also very friendly service. No wonder they have such a great rating. Just had to leave 5 stars!

It was some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. It was not very expensive and had a great atmosphere. The service was fantastic as well! The staff was super welcoming and I would recommend it to anyone who wants authentic Mexican food!

10/10 EXPERIENCE!! I wish i could give 10 stars. I got the birria special, my husband ordered pancakes and eggs, 100% delicious! The birria was flavored so well with all the add ons of course onion, cilantro, and a grilled jalepeno. The staff was helpful in pointing out popular menu items and the music was jumping! The sauces were delicious. The coffee was delicious. My only note would be to increase pescatarian options but no star loss needed for that still ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re looking for a quick lunch this is the place to go.

I was craving a breakfast burrito. I chose this place, and I do not regret it at all. The burrito was great with eggs, steak, potatoes, onion, and the red sauce was delicious. I do not regret it at all. One more thing they chips and salsa were great and different. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
